Dream - The government through the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemkominfo) will impose fines on social media platforms that still facilitate online gambling.
Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo), Budi Arie Setiadi mentioned that the fine sanction is worth Rp500 million per online gambling content.
Sanctions will be imposed on platforms on Google, X (Twitter), Meta, Telegram, and TikTok that facilitate online gambling.
"Strong warning to all digital platform operators such as X, Telegram, Google, Meta, and TikTok. If you are not cooperative in eradicating online gambling on your platform, I will impose fines of up to Rp500 million per content."

Besides social media platforms, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology (Menkominfo) also issued an ultimatum to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to actively combat online gambling. He threatened to revoke the company's operating license if it is proven to facilitate online gambling.
"I repeat without hesitation to revoke the internet service provider (ISP) used to facilitate online gambling and we will announce the names of the ISPs."

Currently, the ISP party that has performed automatic synchronization with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology is only about 35 percent of the total 1,011 ISPs operating in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, from the field testing results of 2023 to 2024, it was found that 26 out of a total of 136 samples still had access to negative content including online gambling and pornography.
