Dream - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI urges the public who are traveling home for Lebaran 2024 to get off at their intended station. Because there will be sanctions imposed on passengers who intentionally get off beyond their destination station.
VP Public Relations KAI, Joni Martinus, explained that the sanction is in the form of a fine that can even reach twice the price of the ticket.
"Since August 3, 2023, KAI has implemented a policy that states customers who intentionally exceed the limits on their tickets will face serious sanctions. The imposed fine can even reach double the ticket price stated, and may result in a temporary ban from boarding the train."
The following 'Bahasa' text translated to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "Joni's words are quoted from Merdeka.com, Thursday, April 4, 2024."
Joni said that this policy is implemented to maintain mutual comfort and enforce order on the train. In the future, customers who are found to exceed the limit will be informed about the fine that must be paid directly on the train and will be disembarked at the first opportunity station.
The translated text while preserving html tags: "The amount of the fine that must be paid is twice the price of the lowest sub-class partial ticket, according to the service class owned by the customer, from the destination station stated on the ticket to the station where the customer is disembarked."
"If customers intentionally exceed the limit and are unable to pay while on the train, they will be disembarked at the first opportunity station to pay the fine at the station counter within 1x24 hours."
"For those who do not pay the fine within the specified time, they are not allowed to board the train for 90 calendar days, and for those who commit violations more than three times, the train ban can be extended up to 180 calendar days."
"As a preventive measure against such violations, conductors always provide reminders through the train's loudspeaker and conduct checks using the Check Seat Passenger application."
Joni said.
The translated text while preserving the html tags would be: "The rule of not getting off beyond the station stated on this ticket is part of KAI's efforts to provide safe, comfortable, and reliable transportation services. It is important for all customers to comply with the applicable rules."
