"Sensitive neurons in the brain are activated during the early stages of sleep and correlate with an increase in skin temperature in the thumbs, hands, and feet, subsequently leading to a decrease in core body temperature," said Doctor Broderick.
There is no concrete evidence to prove that sleeping with socks on affects the brain. However, preliminary research suggests that warming the skin may potentially activate parts of the brain that facilitate the onset of sleep.
At the end, the decision to wear socks while sleeping or not greatly depends on individual circumstances.
