According to General Practitioner and Certified Nutrition & Health Coach, Dion Haryadi, the study involved more than 49 thousand elderly people aged over 60 years old.
"\u201cIt was found that those who sit more every day have a significantly higher risk of dementia,\u201d revealed Dion."
This research has not revealed the relationship between sitting for too long and dementia. Nevertheless, Sahabat Dream should prevent dementia with some simple tips. Here are some of them:
1. Increase Physical Activity
"Start reducing lazy habits. Try to stand up and move more actively every 30 minutes." Sahabat Dream can stand up and do some stretching before sitting back down and continuing activities.
2. Routine Exercise
You don't need to exercise every day to adopt a healthy habit. Just do a minimum of 150-250 minutes of exercise per week. Choose the easiest type of exercise to make it easier to turn it into a habit.
"\u201cThis will help maintain muscle mass, train reflexes, and also brain health,\u201d explained Dion. Some types of sports that are easy to do at home are zumba, high intensity interval training (HIIT), yoga, walking, and cycling."
3. Eat Healthy and Balanced Nutritious Food
Pay attention to the food consumed every day. Make sure the food can truly meet daily nutritional needs. Dream friends can start matching carbohydrate intake with vegetables. Don't forget to fulfill protein consumption by eating animal and plant protein sources. Consume your favorite fruits to get additional sources of fiber and nutrients. Consuming nutritious food can also free you from daily supplement consumption, so the source of nutrients is more organic.
4. Enough Rest
Resting enough is not only beneficial for maintaining the health of the whole body, but also increases metabolism. When the metabolism is good, you will find it easier to maintain weight and have a healthier body.
Take care of the quality of your sleep so that you can be more productive. Dream friends can do this by avoiding food consumption and exercising 2-3 hours before sleep. You can also exercise regularly, control your diet, and reduce stress levels if you have difficulty sleeping.
