Dream - Ahead of Eid al-Fitr, several modest fashion brands have launched their latest collections. Of course, to captivate the hearts of Muslims, they want them to consider the clothing they will wear on the upcoming Hari Raya.

One of the brands that has launched its 2023 Raya collection is Morning and Smile. Collaborating with influencer Alca Octaviani, the owner of the @alcaoctvn account, Morning and Smile has launched the Everyday collection.

"Initially, it was intended for Hari Raya only, but it's a shame if it's only worn on Hari Raya, so we wanted it to be worn every day, hence the name of the collection is Everyday," explained Kurniasari, Founder of Morning and Smile.

Simple Basic Collection

The cuts of the pieces in this collection are simple with loose cuts and suitable for festive occasions.

"We stick to our DNA, so it's functional, moodboard, color, and colors that can be worn during Eid. So the highlight is functional and everlasting," explained Kurniasari.

These basic cuts are in line with Alca's simple character.

"We see Alca representing Morning Soul very well. A simple, smart casual style. Her background as a lecturer also has a positive impact on her followers. So we tried to approach Alca and thankfully she welcomed our collection," added Kurniasari.

Neutral Colors

The colors used in this collection are more neutral, in line with Alca and Morning Smile's character.

Fasting While Traveling Far, Including During Umrah

Dream - Fasting during Ramadan is obligatory for Muslims. However, in certain circumstances, some people are allowed not to fast if they are unable to do so.

"If you are sick or traveling (safar), then you are allowed to make up for it on another day, meaning you can choose not to fast," explained Ustaz Taufik Al Miftah from Umroh.com during the Dream Day Ramadan Fest 2023 event at the Jakarta Convention Center on Friday, April 7, 2023.

The distance requirement to be eligible for this concession is 85 km. However, with the advancement of technology such as airplanes, travel has become easier.

"That's why now distance cannot be the only measurement, because now you can reach Surabaya in just 2 hours. So now, according to scholars, distance and masyaqah, meaning difficulty, are the determining factors," added Ustaz Taufik.

What About Umrah Travel

So, if the distance is far and there are difficulties, fasting is not obligatory. And for Umrah travel, it depends on the individual.

"If you are able to fast because you are comfortable on the plane and your intention is for worship, it would be a shame not to fast, because this is an act of worship," explained Ustaz Taufiq.

Umrah Experience 2018

Ustaz Taufiq also shared his experience of performing Umrah in 2018 during Ramadan and the unique challenges he faced.

"The test was extraordinary, I departed after Dhuhr prayer, and the journey took longer because I followed the time in the destination country instead of Indonesia's time, but I still had to fast. Although in Mecca, some pilgrims were forced to break their fast due to the 45-degree heat during Ramadan. Their noses bled, their lips cracked, this is called masyaqah (difficulty). It's not too difficult on the way but it's difficult there, so it can be canceled," Ustaz Taufiq shared.

However, fasting is good for you if you know it. So it's a choice.
