Dream - The figure of Mikael Jasin is no longer unfamiliar in the world of coffee in Indonesia since 2012. His name skyrocketed when he won the title of World Barista Championship (WBC) 2024 held in Busan, South Korea.
This achievement not only strengthens its position on the world stage, but also reflects its dedication to innovation in the coffee world. Previously, Mikael has been a three-time champion in the Indonesia Barista Championship.
In the WBC 2024 competition, this handsome Barista successfully shone and defeated 53 competitors from 50 competing countries. This victory is not just a mere coincidence, but a great struggle for him.
One of Mikael's main secrets in his victory, which he revealed during the celebration event of Mikael Jasin as the World's Best Barista on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, is the use of local Indonesian plant-based milk products, namely Arummi Cashew Milk. Mikael revealed the key secret of his victory by mixing 60% cow's milk to obtain the sweetness from lactose, 20% oat milk as a balance for the acidity of the coffee, and 20% Arummi Cashew Milk to provide a distinctive savory and nutty touch of cashew nuts, as well as a creamy texture.
According to Mikael, as a barista, one must be able to keep up with the ever-changing trends. Innovation is the key to being able to offer a variety of coffee flavors to coffee lovers.
