اَللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي رَجَبَ وَشَعْبَانَ وَبَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ

Meaning:

"O Allah, bless us in the months of Rajab and Sya'ban and allow us to reach the month of Ramadan." (Narrated by Ahmad)

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ، أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ، وَرَحْمَتِكَ، وَجَنَّتِكَ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ

Meaning: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek Your pleasure, Your Paradise, and I seek refuge in You from the Hellfire."

From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet Muhammad said:

"Our Lord, blessed and exalted, descends to the worldly sky when the last third of the night remains. Then Allah says, 'Whoever prays to Me, I will answer him. Whoever asks of Me, I will give him. Whoever seeks forgiveness from Me, I will forgive him.'" (Narrated by Bukhari, no. 1145, and Muslim, no. 758)

Ibn Hajar also explained the hadith above by saying, "Prayers and repentance during suhoor time are easily accepted." (Fath Al-Bari, 3: 32)

From Abu Hurairah, the Prophet Muhammad said: "Three people whose prayers are not rejected: a fasting person until he breaks his fast, a just leader, and the prayer of an oppressed person." (Narrated by Ahmad 2: 305. Sheikh Shu'aib Al Arnauth stated that this hadith is authentic with various chains and supports)

Imam Nawawi said, "It is recommended for a fasting person to increase prayers for his hereafter and worldly affairs, and he may also pray for his needs, and do not forget to pray for the good of the Muslims in general." (Al-Majmu', 6: 273)
