Dream - Prof Budi Santoso has been reappointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Airlangga University (FK Unair). The certainty was announced by Budi, accompanied by the Rector of Unair, Prof Mohammad Nasih, in a press conference on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.

Meanwhile, Nasih ensures that as of July 10, 2024, Budi has officially resumed his position as the Dean of FK Unair. "Starting tomorrow morning, he will be back in the office," he said firmly.

When asked about the basics of Budi's dismissal, Nasih refused to answer. He only likened this case to a couple who are dating. "This is normal. So, when you meet, you date and suddenly there's a problem and you break up, it's normal. So, there's no need to be emotional. But, God willing, everything is fine, we have read Prof BUS's letter and we have reinstated him as the Dean of FK," he explained.

Nasih does not want to discuss further about Budi's dismissal case. He considers it as the past. "That is the past, what matters now is that we focus on the future of Unair that we love," he emphasized.

"Previously, Universitas Airlangga (Unair) Surabaya dismissed Prof Budi Santoso from his position as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine allegedly for refusing the government's program to bring in foreign doctors to Indonesia. The news of his dismissal originated from a statement by Prof Budi Santoso circulating in the WhatsApp Group (WAG) of FK Unair lecturers on Wednesday, July 3, 2024."

In his statement, Budi Santoso bid farewell to around 300 members in the group, after receiving the decision from the Rectorate of Unair to dismiss him from the position of Dean of FK Unair.
