Dream - In the month of Ramadan leading up to Eid al-Fitr, many Muslims flock to shopping centers to hunt for Eid clothes. The overwhelming number of visitors causes people to squeeze and jostle each other while selecting clothes displayed on the racks of shopping centers. With the condition of fasting and crowded visitors, some people may become careless about their surroundings.
Carelessness in crowded moments is often exploited by thieves to carry out their evil actions.
Recently, CCTV footage caught a thief in action at a clothing store. With the modus operandi of pretending to drop a clothing rack, a man stole the shopkeeper's mobile phone.
The theft of this mobile phone incident occurred at PGC Cililitan Ground Floor, East Jakarta, on Saturday, March 30, 2024. In the initial video, it shows the bustling atmosphere of Cililitan wholesale center with a large number of visitors.
A man wearing a gray jacket and a mask can be seen, with a bag in front, pretending to bump into a clothes rack.
After the clothes rack collapsed, she pretended to help in setting up the clothes rack. Two women are seen approaching to assist the disguised thief as mall visitors.
The man seemed to be showing his attention to two women who were trying to fix the position of the clothes rack.
However, the thief seemed to intentionally push the clothes rack next to him until it collapsed.
The thief seemed to be trying to create chaos, so that the attention of the storekeeper and other visitors would be focused on the clothes rack. While the storekeepers were busy tidying up the fallen rack, the thief acted and escaped with the storekeeper's mobile phone.
The shopkeeper managed to contact his own number which was in his stolen mobile phone. In his message, the shopkeeper asked the thief to return his cellphone. The shopkeeper promised to provide a lawful job if the thief returns the cellphone.
I don't know what the thief's answer is, it made the storekeeper angry. He even asked to meet with the thief of the HP. "What do you want now? Can we meet?" asked the storekeeper to the thief. However, instead of answering that question through a text message, the thief sent a voice note.
In that voice note, he revealed the reason for stealing the phone. He admitted that he was desperate because his wife was sick and needed money.
Until this news is published, the thief has not returned the shopkeeper's mobile phone. Frustrated that his phone has not been returned, the shopkeeper spread a photo of the thief's face. "Anyone who knows/encounters this thief, please DM me. My phone was stolen by this devilish human. Stolen at PGC," wrote the shopkeeper.
