"Known, Hamzah Haz was born in Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan, on February 15, 1940. He began his career as a teacher in 1960. He also worked as a journalist for the Bebas newspaper in Pontianak until he became the General Leader of the Harian Berita Pawau in West Kalimantan. He is a political figure from the United Development Party (PPP). During his 29 years of service in the DPR, his colleagues nicknamed him the Walking Dictionary of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN)."
"Analisis Hamzah Haz is always eagerly awaited by many people whenever there is a discussion on the State Budget Bill (RAPBN) in the DPR during that time. Hamzah Haz was elected as the 9th vice president (wapres) accompanying Megawati Soekarnoputri after receiving 340 votes out of a total of 610 votes."
