"Example of the Prophet If You Want to Give Punishment to Your Loved Ones"
Giving punishment can be done, but not to hurt, but to give a lesson.
Giving punishment can be done, but not to hurt, but to give a lesson.
Dream - It is undeniable that there are times when children make mistakes, cannot be controlled, or may lie and harm others. Bad behavior in children is normal, including if they make mistakes.
The important thing as a parent is to always let them know that every negative behavior has consequences. Giving punishment can be done, but not something that hurts, but giving them a lesson, as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad. Quoted from BincangMuslimah, Drs. Moch. Ishom Achmadi in his book Kaifa Nurabbi Abnaa'ana explains that there are seven methods taught by the Prophet Muhammad in giving punishment to children. These methods are as follows:
Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Umar bin Abi Salamah r.a. He said, "When I was a child, I was under the care of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. One day, when my hand was moving here and there over a plate of food, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, 'O child, mention the name of Allah. Eat with your right hand. And eat what is with you.'"
In the hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave guidance to Umar bin Abi Salamah regarding his mistake with good advice, lasting direction, lightness, and clarity.
"Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrate from Sahal bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) who said that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was given a drink, and he drank some of it. Sitting to his right was a child, and to his left were some elders. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said to the child: "
"May I give to them?" (This is a friendly gesture and a method of guidance). Then the child answered, "No, by Allah, the portion given to me by you, I will not give to anyone," and then the Prophet Muhammad placed a drink in the child's hand, the child was Abdullah bin Abbas.
Al-Bukhari narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), "Al-Fadhal once accompanied the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). One day, a woman from Khuts'um came and caught Al-Fadhal's attention, and he also looked at her. So, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) turned Al-Fadhal's face away." In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) turned Al-Fadhal's face away to prevent him from looking at a woman who is not his mahram. This lesson had a lasting impact on Al-Fadhal.
Al-Bukhari narrated from Abu Dzar (may Allah be pleased with him), he said, "I insulted a man by defaming his mother (that is, by saying), 'O son of a black woman.'"
Listening to that, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, "O Abu Dzar, you have insulted his mother by speaking ill of her. Indeed, you are still behaving in the ways of ignorance. Your brothers are your servants whom Allah has made under your authority. Whoever has a brother under his authority, he should give him clothes from what he wears, and do not burden them with tasks that they cannot handle, and if you give them those tasks, then help them."
"Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the hadith has corrected Abu Dzar's mistake by condemning him when he insulted someone by mentioning their mother's flaws."
