A paleobiology expert from the Faculty of Geography, Earth, and Environment at the University of Birmingham, England, namely Professor Richard Butler, stated that with a very strong jaw and "sharp teeth like steak knives", this ancient creature occupies the top position in their ecosystem food chain.

The discovery confirms that proportionally, the heads of erythrosuchids are larger compared to other reptiles. This feature may have developed when this group adapted as hypercarnivores, which are animals that only eat meat, to fill an ecological niche.
