"Reviving Nostalgia, KAI Presents Vintage Snacks with Street Vendors"
"Curious about what?"
"Curious about what?"
Dream - Since the ban on selling for street vendors on trains in 2013, passengers can no longer buy food, drinks, or snacks during the journey.
Enjoying snacks sold by street vendors and enjoying the beautiful panorama during the train journey is usually a sweet moment for passengers. Ten years have passed without the presence of street vendors on intercity trains, but now Sahabat Dream can enjoy that exciting moment again. Celebrating KAI's (Indonesian Railways) anniversary, KAI presents KLB (Extraordinary Train) in collaboration with Culinary Train, offering 'street vendors' and typical culinary delights such as candy, nuts, refreshing drinks, and regional specialties into the passenger cars.
Carrying the concept of KLB Nostalgic Culinary, KAI wants to prioritize the vibes of old-time trains with the presence of street vendors selling local culinary delicacies.
However, the street vendors present at KLB Nostalgic Culinary are not genuine street vendors but rather train crews or railway staff who dress up like street vendors.
"They who used to wear train officer uniforms, now wear t-shirts, jeans, hats, and even flip-flops, exactly like street vendors. Without hesitation, the train officers also sell snacks while raising their voices slightly high, just like street vendors who want their merchandise to sell well."
Based on the video uploaded on the Instagram account @kulinerkereta, it can be seen that three prama and one prami are carrying their merchandise while visiting each passenger one by one.
You can experience this 'asongan' sensation on the Gambir-Yogyakarta route and vice versa. Unfortunately, you can only experience that sensation on September 29-30, 2023, yesterday. Are you one of the passengers who enjoyed snacking at the contemporary street vendors?
