That is why Sandiaga received the International Tourism Leaders Summit (ITLS) Awards 2023 - Circle Excellence of IHGMA Bali, from IHGMA Bali Regional Board, as an inspirational figure."

Through his statement in a video on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Sandiaga expressed his appreciation and gratitude to IHGMA DPD Bali for the award bestowed upon him.

"I, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia, express my gratitude for the given award. This event will create a space for collaboration, in making tourism a leading and influential sector," said Sandiaga, who can be seen in the video wearing a white koko shirt and a black peci hat."

In his speech, Sandiaga also stated that the hotel industry plays a central role in creating extraordinary tourism experiences. Therefore, the preparation of skilled and competitive human resources is very important. "We can ensure that future leaders in the hotel industry have the necessary competence to overcome various challenges. They will be reliable tourism ambassadors, capable of creating unforgettable experiences for all tourists," added Sandiaga.

However, Sandiaga cannot accept this award directly. He was represented by the Head of the Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, I Gusti Ayu Dewi Hendriyani, at Hotel Trans Sunset Road Bali on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

"I, as a representative of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy on behalf of our leader, Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, express our gratitude for the given appreciation. This is an extraordinary event, where we appreciate every figure who indeed provides motivation and inspiration for all of us," said Dewi."

In line with Sandiaga, Dewi, who attended the award, explained that in achieving the full potential of the tourism sector, quality and competitive human resources are needed, especially in terms of competence and readiness when facing various significant changes, including technological advancements, increasing expectations and changing preferences of tourists, as well as ongoing challenges related to environmental issues.

International Tourism Leader Summit (ITLS) 2023, which carries the theme of Enhancing and amplifying the competency of future hospitality leaders: a comprehensive exploration, is the second event organized by IHGMA DPD Bali since 2022. This event was held at The Trans Resort Bali on September 26-27, coinciding with the celebration of World Tourism Day. ITLS 2023 was attended by 675 participants divided into six master classes in the field of hospitality and awarded eight best participants.

Not only Sandiaga Uno, there are 12 other inspiring figures who received the ITLS Awards 2023 - Circle Excellence of IHGMA Bali because they are considered to have actively and positively contributed together with IHGMA DPD Bali in realizing sustainable tourism.
