Dream - President Director of the Social Security Organizing Agency for Health (BPJS) Ali Ghufron Mukti said that BPJS is ready to guarantee the healthcare costs for the election officers (Pemilu) who are sick.

The requirement is that the relevant officer is registered as an active participant of the National Health Insurance-JKN.

The guarantee is in line with the report from the General Election Commission (KPU) which noted that thousands of election officials fell ill during the voting for the 2024 Elections on February 14-15, 2024.

"Furthermore, as of Friday, February 16, 2024 at 18:00 WIB, there have been 35 officers who have passed away."

"BPJS Kesehatan, together with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the General Election Commission (KPU), and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) coordinated by the Office of the President's Staff (KSP), has made efforts to ensure that all Election officials have become participants of the National Health Insurance (JKN) and their membership status is active, so that they can obtain financing certainty and healthcare services in case of sudden illness. Ghufron also stated that they encourage screening of the health history of election officials before the democratic party begins."

Based on data as of February 16, 2024, there are 6,825,437 Election officials who have undergone health history screening. Out of that number, approximately 94.17 percent of Election officials are declared disease-free, and 5.8 percent of Election officials are declared at risk.

"By undergoing a health history screening before duty, election officers can have a better understanding of their health condition and be able to perform their tasks optimally in the future. The hope is that the screening results will show that all officers are in good health and ready to carry out their duties well, so that the election can run smoothly," he said.

BPJS Health also prepares a monitoring dashboard for the implementation of the health history screening of election officials. Access to this dashboard is also owned by the KPU, Bawaslu, Kemendagri, KSP, as well as the public through the BPJS Health website.
