The latest Tapera policy was signed by President Joko Widodo on May 20, 2024, as stated in Government Regulation (PP) 21/2024, which is a modification of PP 25/2020. The groups classified as mandatory participants in the program are civil servants (ASN), TNI (Indonesian National Army), POLRI (Indonesian National Police), state-owned enterprise (BUMN/BUMD) workers, as well as private sector workers.

The amount of the contribution is determined at 3 percent of the salary or wages for Employee Participants and income for Self-Employed Participants. For Employee Participants, it is jointly borne by the company and the respective employees at 0.5 percent and 2.5 percent, respectively, while Self-Employed Participants bear the entire savings.
