There are many rejections of the 3% Tapera contribution, Coordinating Minister Airlangga requests a reevaluation of its benefits.

Dream - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, considers that the Home Savings Program for the People (Tapera), which includes collecting a 3 percent contribution from employees' salaries, needs to be studied and evaluated again. The study will cover the benefits and advantages that participants will obtain.

Many Rejections of 3% Tapera Contributions, Minister Airlangga Requests Further Study on Benefits

"Tapera needs to be seen for its benefits and of course, the benefits that can be obtained by the workers,"

ucap Airlangga kepada media, di Kantor Kemenko Perekonomian, Jakarta, Rabu, 29 Mei 2024 dikutip dari Merdeka.com. Airlangga said to the media, at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 29, 2024 quoted from Merdeka.com.

Apart from being studied in more depth, Airlangga also asked the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) to socialize the implementation of Government Regulation (PP) Number 21 of 2024 concerning Amendments to PP Number 25 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of the People's Housing Savings (Tapera) which has been signed by President Joko Widodo on May 20, 2024. This socialization is needed so that the public no longer complains about obstacles in the implementation of Tapera savings.

"It needs to be further explored through socialization by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing as well as the Ministry of Finance,"

Airlangga.

In the PP, the government sets the Tapera contribution at 3 percent, which will be borne by employees and companies. Employers or companies will be required to contribute 0.5 percent and employees will contribute 2.5 percent from wage or salary deductions.

"Previously, President Jokowi said that the cuts imposed on private sector employees will also be calculated first. Whether these deductions burden the community or not. He added that when BPJS Kesehatan was launched with the same policy as Tapera, he received a lot of overwhelming response from the community. However, after implementation, the community can feel its benefits."

"Like before with BPJS, outside of BPI which is free for 96 million people, it's also crowded. But after it's implemented, I think I feel the benefits that hospitals are not charging fees. Things like that will be felt after it's implemented if it's not usually pros and cons,""

clear Jokowi.
