Furthermore, Jokowi said that he will calculate and consider the fiscal capacity of the state regarding the potential increase in fuel prices in June after being held since the beginning of the year.
As known, the government has held back the increase in fuel prices, both subsidized and non-subsidized, since the beginning of 2024.

Jokowi said that the ability of the State Budget (APBN) to provide fuel subsidies will be calculated based on consideration of world oil prices, especially in the midst of geopolitical conditions. He continued, all of these aspects will be calculated and assessed through careful consideration.
"The price of oil can reach any height. Everything will be calculated, everything will be counted, everything will be done through careful considerations because it concerns the livelihood of many people."

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif previously revealed the government's consideration to maintain the stability of fuel prices until June 2024.
"On the other hand, the volatility of world oil prices, the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, and the depreciation of the rupiah against the US dollar have caused compensation and domestic fuel subsidy budgets to swell. 'We have already said until June 2024 (held back), the consideration is that we are just recovering, the society should not bear additional burden, that's it,' said Arifin."
