Dream - Elected President Prabowo Subianto has changed the term "free lunch" to "nutritious free meal". The reason is to adjust to the schedule of school children who start in the morning and go home at 11.00 to 12.00 noon.
"After we studied it turns out that the correct term is nutritious free meals for children. That's the complete explanation. Because if elementary school students come in the morning, it would be too long for them to wait until lunchtime. So they have to have breakfast, that's why we made the change,"
words Prabowo in his statement.
According to Prabowo, the free nutritious meal program will greatly determine the future of the Indonesian nation, as there are currently many malnourished children. Prabowo mentioned that up to now, there have been 76 countries that provide nutritious meal programs for children in schools. Meanwhile, six other countries are preparing for the free meal program.
"Minister of Coordinating Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto revealed that the Indonesian government is also studying the free nutritious meal program that has previously been implemented by Japan."
"Indonesia is open to learning from countries that have already implemented free lunch programs or have currently been renamed by the elected president as a nutritious meal program, including Japan."

According to Airlangga, Japan has been experienced in implementing the program since the end of World War II.
"Furthermore, the government is currently studying and conducting benchmarking with China regarding a similar program. 'I believe many countries have implemented such a program where Indonesia needs to learn how to implement it, especially by the next administration,' he expressed."
Free lunch included in the priority program of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka is estimated to require a budget of up to Rp400 trillion. The recipient categories include school children, toddlers, and pregnant women.
