Dream - Private sector employee salaries in the future will be subject to deductions for the Public Housing Savings (Tapera) account.

This rule refers to Government Regulation (PP) Number 21 of 2024 concerning amendments to PP Number 25 of 2020 regarding the implementation of the People's Housing Savings (Tapera), which was ratified by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on May 20, 2023.

"In Article 5 of PP Tapera, it is emphasized that every worker who is at least 20 years old or married and has a minimum income equal to the minimum wage, is obliged to become a participant of Tapera."

Then in Article 7, the types of jobs that are required to become Tapera participants are detailed. Not only civil servants or state officials, TNI-Polri, and state-owned enterprises, but now private workers are also included in the list of Tapera participants.

Then participant registration by the employer to the Management Agency (BP) Tapera must be done no later than 2027, in accordance with the provisions in Article 68 PP. So, how much is the amount to pay for Tapera savings?

"In Article 15 paragraph 1 of the Government Regulation, it is stated that the amount of savings determined by the government is 3% of the salary or wages for employee participants and income for self-employed participants."
