Dream - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) released a report "Development of Indonesia's Exports and Imports in June 2024". The result, Indonesia's export value in June 2024 reached US$20.84 billion, this figure indicates a decrease of 6.65 percent compared to exports in May 2024.
"While, compared to June 2023, the export value showed an increase of 1.17 percent. Cumulatively, Indonesia's export value from January to June 2024 reached US$125.09 billion, or a decrease of 2.76 percent compared to the same period in 2023."
Most commodities experienced a decline, with the largest decline in precious metals and jewelry/gems amounting to US$440.5 million (45.76 percent). Meanwhile, fats and animal/vegetable oils experienced an increase of US$1,091.5 million (68.06 percent).
According to sectors, non-oil and gas exports from the manufacturing industry in January-June 2024 increased by 0.40 percent compared to the same period in 2023. Similarly, exports of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries products increased by 6.73 percent, while exports of mining and other products decreased by 15.05 percent.
"The Biggest Export Goal"
The largest non-oil and gas exports in June 2024 were to China, amounting to US$4.65 billion, followed by the United States at US$1.97 billion, and India at US$1.84 billion, with their combined contribution reaching 43.13 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) amounted to US$3.62 billion and US$1.21 billion, respectively.
"Biggest Exporting Province"
According to the province of origin, Indonesia's largest exports in January-June 2024 came from West Java Province with a value of US$17.99 billion (14.39 percent), followed by East Kalimantan with US$12.57 billion (10.04 percent) and East Java with US$12.20 billion (9.76 percent).
"Import Value"
While for Indonesia's import value in June 2024 reached US$18.45 billion, down 4.89 percent compared to May 2024 or up 7.58 percent compared to June 2023.
Import of oil and gas in June 2024 reached US$3.27 billion, up 19.01 percent compared to May 2024 or up 47.17 percent compared to June 2023. Meanwhile, non-oil and gas imports in June 2024 reached US$15.18 billion, down 8.83 percent compared to May 2024 or up 1.69 percent compared to June 2023.
The three largest non-oil and gas importing countries during January-June 2024 are China with US$32.45 billion (35.41 percent), Japan with US$6.47 billion (7.06 percent), and Thailand with US$4.87 billion (5.31 percent). Non-oil and gas imports from ASEAN amount to US$16.32 billion (17.81 percent), and from the European Union, US$5.89 billion (6.43 percent).
