Dream - Unilever recalls Magnum Almond ice cream products in England and Ireland due to concerns of plastic and metal contamination. This recall comes after the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) declared it "unsafe for consumption".
So far, there have been no reported diseases caused by contaminated plastic and metal Magnum almond ice cream. However, the recall is still being carried out because the packaging label does not disclose information about potential allergenic contents.
At present, ice cream retailers in the UK have been informed about the recall and will display the notice in-store. Retailers will also provide guidance to consumers who may have purchased the affected products, in accordance with the directions from food safety authorities.
"Magnum ice cream is sold not only in England but also in other countries, including Indonesia. So, how is the safety of Magnum ice cream in Indonesia?"
"Responding to public concerns regarding the withdrawal of Magnum Almond ice cream products in the UK, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) states that all Magnum ice cream products sold in Indonesia are safe to consume."
The text translates to: "According to Marketing Lead of Magnum Indonesia, Aliqa Sendyalaras in her statement quoted from Merdeka.com, Wednesday, 24 April 2024."
Aliqa said, Magnum ice cream sold in Indonesia is produced with the highest standards. Its production has also complied with applicable regulations and has obtained complete permission from the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM). "Product safety is our top priority," said Aliqa.
Regarding the recent withdrawal of Magnum ice cream products in England and Ireland, Aliqa stated that it is a precautionary measure for products manufactured in those countries.
