"I see that the development of IKN Airport is progressing well. The construction is also in accordance with the President's instructions, which is to maintain the surrounding natural greenery," said the Minister of Transportation as quoted from Liputan6.com, Thursday, February 29, 2024.

"I hope the IKN Airport development can proceed as planned, so it can be tested in July," said Budi.

Budi explained that currently at the construction site, ongoing work is being done for the cut and fill area of worship, official housing, office buildings, laboratories, cafeteria, west perimeter road access, and VIP parking.

"Furthermore, the completion of bored pile for VIP and VVIP Terminal, the opening of the main access road, and land clearing work in the reservoir area are also being carried out."

"The IKN Airport has a terminal area of 7,350 m2 and an airport area of 347 ha. With a runway length of 3,000 meters and a width of 45 meters, this airport can be landed by large-bodied aircraft, such as the Boeing 777-3000ER and Airbus A380."

"As for the design concept of IKN Airport Terminal, it will combine prominent local wisdom that highlights Kalimantan culture yet remains modern, as well as being nature-oriented and environmentally friendly," said Minister of Transportation Budi.
