This matching is regulated in the Tax Regulation Harmonization Law (UU HPP) and the Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 112/PMK.03/2022.

The process of matching NIK to NPWP is still ongoing, where as of November 22, 2023, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) recorded that there were 59.3 million taxpayer identification numbers (NIK) that have been matched to NPWP, or approximately 82.4 percent of the 72 million taxpayers.

"How to Match NIK with NPWP"

1. Enter the DJP Online page at https:\/\/djponline.pajak.go.id\/account\/login.2. Log in to the DJP Online page by entering your NPWP, password, and security code (captcha) provided.3. After successfully logging in, go to the "Profile" main menu.

4. Later on the Profile page, it will show the validity status of your main data, whether you need to 'Update' or 'Confirm'. This status indicates that you need to validate your NIK. 5. On the 'Profile' menu page, there will be 'Main Data' and you will find the NIK/NPWP column (16 digits). In that column, you must enter a 16-digit NIK.

6. When finished, click 'Validation'. 7. Next, the system will attempt to validate the data against the records in the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil). 8. If the data is valid, the system will display an information notification stating that the data has been found. Then, click 'Ok' on that notification. 9. Then, press the "Edit Profile" button.
