Dream - A 3rd grade boy at Elementary School (SD) in China has touched the hearts of many people on social media, after accidentally scratching a car window.
The translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags is as follows: "The little child apologized to the car owner by leaving a letter with the security guard and leaving 50 yuan. If the money is not enough to cover the damages, he promised to repay it in installments."
The owner of the car, with the surname Xu, and her husband, who is from Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province in the eastern part, found a small scratch on their car on October 26th. Actually, the small scratch didn't really bother them. "It's not too serious, so we didn't pay much attention to it," said Xu as quoted from The Star, Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
A security officer then handed him a letter with 50 yuan hidden inside. The letter, written by hand, was signed by a boy with the surname Ye.
"Letter of apology: yesterday, I accidentally scratched your car with a wooden stick and I feel extremely guilty. Currently, I only have 50 yuan. How much will it cost to repair your car? Can I pay in installments? I apologize, Uncle," the letter stated.
The neatly handwritten text with visible eraser marks is evidence of this child's seriousness and meticulousness towards what he has done. "After reading it, I feel amused and think that the child is very cute," said Xu, who was touched by the child's attitude.
"Then I felt that the child was very brave, willing to take responsibility for his mistake and actively seeking a way out," said Xu. "He also wrote in his letter that if 50 yuan is not enough, he can pay it in installments, which made me think that he is a very smart child," added Xu.
That evening, Xu and her husband then met with the boy. "Then, we told him that because he had behaved very well and was willing to take responsibility for his actions, he could get the 50 yuan back as a reward," said Xu.
This story has captivated the hearts of many social media users in China. "Children generally like to play and be naughty, but it's great that he is aware of his mistakes and is trying to redeem himself," said an online observer. "He wrote the letter very diligently. The owner of the car is also very kind," said another person. "The parents of this child must have high values," added another person. "A cute child, a kind car owner, and a perfect ending," said another person.
