In the video that was reposted on Instagram @lowslowmotif, the account states that the parking fee set for buses reaches Rp150 thousand.

"Worse than Warpat, the illegal parking fee at Masjid Istiqlal in Jakarta reaches 150,000. Absolutely outrageous," wrote the caption of the post. The bus driver questioned the amount of the parking fee, which he deemed unreasonable. "I'm going viral. Seriously, why is it only Rp150 thousand (for parking)? Why not two million?" mocked the car driver."

A parking attendant wearing a white jacket can be seen explaining his reasons for setting a parking fee of Rp150,000.

"If indeed you have never done it before, this is the first time, yes, it is indeed like this. Usually, we only ask for clean money for cleanliness," said the parking attendant.

The rider then asked for the official regional regulations or Perda that could be shown to the parking attendant. However, the parking attendant asked the rider to search on Google. "There is no such parking, is there a Perda for it?" he asked.

"Just search on Google, sir," said another man. "This is an illegal parking, sir... only someone takes responsibility for it, what if your bus gets fined? Who will be responsible?" expressed the parking attendant."

In response to the matter, the Head of the Riayah Field of Istiqlal Mosque, Ismail Chawidu, stated that official parking areas for cars and motorcycles are available in the basement areas 1 and 2 of Istiqlal Mosque. However, this parking area is not available for bus transportation. "The Istiqlal parking area is only for regular vehicles (not buses), accommodating between 800 to 1,000 vehicles," said Ismail as quoted from Merdeka.com, Monday, May 13, 2024.

Ismail said that the parking fee at Istiqlal Mosque for four-wheeled vehicles is Rp5,000 for the first hour. For each additional hour, a fee of Rp4,000 is charged and there is no maximum tariff applied. For motorcycle parking fees, the management charges Rp2,000 for the first hour. Furthermore, for each additional hour, a fee of Rp2,000 is charged and there is no maximum tariff. "The parking fee for motorcycles for the first hour is Rp2,000, for the following hours it is Rp2,000, and there is no maximum tariff," he said.
