"Saudi Arabia has already informed us regarding the potential misuse of non-Hajj visas for Hajj 2024, and it will be strictly implemented with intensive inspections by the Saudi authorities," said Hilman, as quoted on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Hilman admits that the hajj queue is very long due to the high enthusiasm of the Indonesian people to perform the hajj pilgrimage. However, people must also be more careful about any information that offers to go on the hajj without queuing.

"There will be many inspections in various places. The public is advised not to be tempted by offers of hajj departures without queues that offer visas other than hajj visas," said Hilman. For information, the provisions of hajj visas are regulated in Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Organization of Hajj and Umrah (PIHU)."

Article 18 of the PIHU Law regulates that the Indonesian hajj visa consists of the Indonesian hajj quota visa, and the hajj invitation mujamalah visa from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Indonesian hajj quota visa is divided into two, regular hajj organized by the government and special hajj organized by the Special Hajj Worship Organizer (PIHK).

This year, the quota for Indonesian hajj pilgrims is 221 thousand. Indonesia also received an additional quota of 20 thousand. Therefore, the total quota for Indonesian hajj pilgrims in 2024 is 241 thousand.

"For Indonesian citizens who receive an invitation for hajj mujamalah visa from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the PIHU Law stipulates that their departure must be through PIHK. PIHK, which departs Indonesian citizens, is required to report to the Minister of Religious Affairs."
