At the prestigious Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024 at Hall 2 ICE BSD, Tangerang, PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) commercial vehicles in Indonesia, showcased its latest product innovations and after-sales services and officially launched the electric truck, eCanter, in the Indonesian market. Interestingly, at the same event, KTB made history by handing over the eCanter electric truck to its first buyer, PT Yusen Logistic Indonesia, on Thursday, July 18, 2024. The delivery of the eCanter is Mitsubishi Fuso's step in supporting the government's policy towards net zero emissions by 2060 and accelerating electrification in the automotive industry.

"Mitsubishi Fuso has gone through various important stages before finally launching the eCanter in Indonesia, starting from trials with 10 large companies in Indonesia, intensive socialization, to finally conducting official sales and delivering vehicles to consumers. The partnership between KTB and PT. Yusen Logistic Indonesia has been established since 2011. The Canter and Fighter X units are operated for logistics activities in their business to this day. Last year, PT Yusen Logistic Indonesia was one of the companies that participated in the eCanter trial that was held. Based on the satisfactory POC results, PT Yusen Logistic Indonesia decided to strengthen their fleet with the electric truck eCanter."

The product, namely the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Truck used in the New Indonesian League, the Bagong Tourism Bus Prototype, and the Canter FE 71 with a Cold Chain body that is already equipped with Runner Telematics along with additional features such as RFID sensors, Dismantle, load weight sensors, door sensors, temperature sensors, and fuel sensors provided by Runner Telematics for the Cold Chain segment. These innovations are a manifestation of Mitsubishi Fuso's commitment as the market leader in commercial vehicles for 53 years in Indonesia.

"eCanter excels with various technologies embedded in its unit, including being equipped with eAxle, which combines the functions of axle, gear, motor, and inverter, making the maintenance of eCanter easier and more efficient. The presence of the Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter is also seen as a solution that is believed to be able to reduce the high rate of traffic accidents involving commercial vehicles. Take, for example, the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) feature embedded in the eCanter electric truck. Currently, one of the causes of traffic accidents involving commercial vehicles is the driver's less-than-optimal condition and the uncontrolled speed of commercial vehicles. This can be prevented with the presence of ESP features like those in the eCanter."

The "Land Departure Warning System (LDWS)" functions to control fast-moving vehicles to stay in their lane. LDWS helps maintain vehicle control in difficult driving situations, such as sharp turns or slippery road surfaces, thus reducing the risk of skidding or overturning. It includes the Accoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) technology, which serves to warn nearby people that a vehicle is approaching, and also features Intelligent Headlight Control (IHC) to assist with nighttime lighting that adjusts automatically according to needs.
