One of them is when hunger strikes. Besides making someone weak and low on energy, someone who is hungry sometimes has difficulty controlling their emotions. But is it true that hunger is only used as an unclear reason for someone to become angry?
That turned out to be not just a myth. According to Nutrition Expert, Nadhira Afifa, a study shows that women who are hungry have significantly higher negative emotions compared to when they are full.
There are several facts that cause someone to become easily angry, sensitive, and emotional when feeling hungry or lacking energy. Let's find out what makes someone easily angry when hunger strikes:
"Decrease in Blood Sugar Levels"
Although the consumption of sweet and high carbohydrate foods is often recommended to be avoided, you still need to meet your daily macronutrient needs. Blood sugar levels should also remain balanced by consuming some fresh foods that taste sweet and are a source of carbohydrates.
Can Affect Brain Function
The decrease in blood sugar levels can affect one part of the brain, namely the prefrontal cortex. This part of the brain plays an important role in emotional control and decision-making. The prefrontal cortex is also very sensitive to fluctuations in blood sugar levels (glucose).

Fight or Flight Reaction
Other causes that make someone easily angry or sensitive when hungry are the emergence of fight or flight reactions caused by hormonal factors.
According to the theory, the fight or flight response can be triggered by hunger due to the production of cortisol and adrenaline hormones, which make a person more alert, tend to be more aggressive, and easily angered. So when someone is angry or becomes more sensitive towards various things, you don't need to respond to it seriously.
