Ridwan Kamil Helps Find Missing Child on New Year's Eve

The bustling New Year's moment also occurred in the area of Gedung Sate, Bandung, West Java. The Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil, also visited the area after holding a video conference on New Year's security at 10:45 PM WIB with the Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Ridwan Kamil's arrival diverted the attention of the visitors. Some people took selfies with the Governor, who is affectionately called 'Kang Emil.' However, a while later, a crying mother approached him and asked for help.

"Governor, please help me find my missing child, please," said the woman as quoted from Merdeka.com.

The 51-year-old Governor immediately responded and asked the surrounding residents to help search for the woman's child. "Where was your child earlier? Let's find them," said Ridwan.

Her Child Was Found

Fortunately, the woman's child was quickly found. "Thank God they're found. Mother, take care of your child. Be more careful," he said.

An appeal to take care of children and family members had been announced earlier by the Chief of the Bandung Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Aswin Sipayung.

"So, there will be many people from Bandung and outside Bandung who will join in the New Year's Eve celebration, bringing their families, underage children, and maybe other family members. They should hold hands and not separate from their family members, to avoid getting lost from their group," Aswin said.

Overcast Weather and Fake Tsunami

Despite the appeals regarding New Year's celebrations, Ridwan ensured that extreme weather on New Year's Eve did not occur due to weather modification technology (TMC) using salt seeding to dissipate rain clouds.

As a result, almost all areas in West Java only experienced overcast skies and low-intensity rain. The rumored tsunami in the Pangandaran Coastal Area was confirmed to be a hoax.

"The two recent issues that have emerged are hoaxes. There were rumors of a tsunami on the southern coast, but the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has clarified that there is no potential for a tsunami. So, tourists who want to go to Pangandaran can enjoy the New Year as usual," he concluded.
