Almost every pregnant woman has experienced nausea in the first trimester. Nausea can cause a decrease in appetite. Nausea and vomiting in the morning are actually common symptoms experienced by pregnant women.
Some even have no appetite at all when they see or smell certain foods. A study in 2017 also stated that 70% of women who experience nausea complain of a decrease in food intake during pregnancy.
Mental Health Influence
When pregnant, pregnant women often experience significant changes in mood. This can also have an impact on stress, discomfort, and anxiety during pregnancy. Other problems such as depression during pregnancy and postpartum may also be experienced by some women.
This causes pregnant women to lose their appetite. In addition, with changes in weight and body shape, some women also experience eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
