"If blood or leakage appears within a few days, according to Dr. Purnawan, it can be triggered by the sterility condition during the operation. Infection conditions can also occur beforehand, such as ruptured amniotic sac/intrauterine infection."

"Nah, if there is a duration (week/month), initially the wound was healing well but suddenly became worse, it is almost certain that the factors are external factors. External factors can be due to new infection, cleanliness factor, water quality factor, or the healing process will indeed result in a keloid," said Dr. Purnawan.

Keloid itself is a raised and hardened scar that can grow larger than the original wound size. In this case, it is a raised scar from a cesarean section surgery on the lower abdomen, which continues to protrude.

"Rubbing against pants, finally resulting in a wound due to bacterial infection, yes it becomes infected again," said Dr. Purnawan."

If the scar from a cesarean operation reopens and starts to ooze, pus, or bleed, do not delay going to the doctor. This indicates an infection that needs to be treated immediately. The doctor can prescribe topical medication or other treatments.
