Dream - Hari Raya Idul Fitri is right in front of us. All preparations to welcome it may have been done by parents. Including giving gifts or envelopes containing money to relatives, cousins, and young nephews.
In Indonesia, the tradition of giving money during Idul Fitri continues to be practiced until today. The hope is that the holiday is filled with sharing blessings and happiness and brings blessings to the entire family.
Well, in the upcoming Idul Fitri moment, there is one important etiquette to remember. Ustaz Irfan Rizki, M.Ag, through his Instagram @irfanrizkihaas, emphasizes the importance for parents not to teach their children to become 'beggars' during the upcoming holiday.
"Do not teach our children to become beggars during the festive season by telling them, 'Go to Uncle Fulan and Aunt Fulanah and ask for money, they are rich people', no!" he said.
According to him, it is not allowed in Islam. He reminds the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) which is to prevent his people from having a mentality of beggars.
"If Uncle Budenya gives a gift, please accept it, as Prophet said: gifts should be accepted, not rejected, as Rasulullah said, if we teach them to have a beggar mentality, never!," said the graduate ustaz from the University of Quranic Sciences."
The following 'Bahasa' text translated to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The young religious figure who is quite popular on TikTok actually asks parents to involve their children when distributing money. Whether it's giving alms to those in need or giving Eid al-Fitr money to younger children."
"Just teach our children, 'my child, this father gives ten thousand in one bundle which is quite a lot, later when you meet your younger siblings, you share it, my child'. Teach them from a young age like that," he said.
