Dream - The Indonesian Government expresses its concerns about the escalating security situation in the Middle East, which is getting increasingly heated. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges all parties to exercise restraint in the current situation. In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted from its official account, @Kemlu_RI, the Indonesian government urges the United Nations Security Council to take immediate action to reduce the current escalating tension.
Indonesia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urges the United Nations to continue efforts to create peace in the Middle East. "Including stopping the illegal population of Palestine and various international law violations by Israel," wrote the government's official statement.
"Solution Offered by Inondesia"
To overcome the escalation in the Middle East, Indonesia remains committed to a fair resolution of the Palestinian issue through the Two-State Solution or the establishment of two sovereign states, which will be the key to creating regional security stability.
"Previously, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) ensured that no Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Israel or Iran were affected by the attack launched by Tehran's military on the Zionist Israeli military facilities on Saturday, April 13, 2024."
That was known after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs monitored the situation and continued to coordinate with Indonesian representatives in the Middle East, including the Indonesian Embassy in Amman and the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, to ensure the safety of Indonesian citizens in the region. In ongoing communication and coordination, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman has made contact with Indonesian citizens living in Israel. Until now, there have been no reports of Indonesian citizens affected by Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel on April 14, 2024.
Before the escalation occurred, on April 13, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a warning to Indonesian citizens to increase their vigilance and postpone travel to Iran and Israel. This step was taken as a preventive measure considering the unstable situation in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also prepared emergency measures by providing a hotline for assistance. Indonesian citizens can contact the KBRI Tehran hotline at +989024668889. Meanwhile, in Amman, Indonesian citizens can contact the KBRI Amman hotline at +962779150407. In addition, the KBRI Cairo also has an emergency hotline at +201022229989.
