One of the eyewitnesses, Sunarto, mentioned that the unfortunate incident began when a group of 11 women were crossing the bridge. While they were in the middle of the bridge, near the golden hand statue, four women who were standing close to each other were taking a selfie when suddenly an explosion was heard.
