However, it is different with this blogger couple. Instead, this couple chose to hold their wedding simply. Not because they don't have money, but they prefer to donate their entire wedding savings for charity.

The blogger couple gave their wedding ceremony savings to hungry children, women, homeless people, and veterans who are in greater need.

Quoted from scmp.com, the couple who chose to do the extraordinary act are Ma Jianguo and his wife, Daruirui. They are from the Guangdong province in southeast China. Initially, the couple proposed marriage to their families. Unlike other influencers, this blogger actually proposed a simple and modest wedding without cash gifts. Ma has 37 million followers on Weibo and 360,000 followers on Douyin, while Daruirui has 1.42 million and 98,000 followers respectively.

In his post, Ma said that he and his wife have just gotten married and will hold a simple wedding ceremony. Besides being held in a small scale, their wedding also does not ask for cash gifts from the invited guests like weddings usually do.

Not because of being thrifty or stingy, Ma explained that their wedding savings, along with assistance from their extended family, will be donated.

Donate Hundreds of Millions

In his post, Ma said that he and Daruirui have donated Rp214.9 million to the China Social Welfare Foundation, Rp10.7 million to the China Social Assistance Foundation, and another Rp10.7 million to the Long Yue Charity. Instead of having a luxurious wedding ceremony and receiving online praise, the pair of bloggers decided to give the Rp422 million they had saved to three charitable organizations.

Ma also explained that the money came from their own savings and some of it was a gift from their family.
