Dream - Tahu Gejrot, a special culinary from Cirebon known for its unique and incredibly delicious taste. The sensation of sweetness, spiciness, and sourness blend in every bite.
The specialty of this food lies in the perfect blend of tofu served with a broth made from garlic, shallots, bird's eye chili, flavor enhancer, and Javanese tamarind water.
Not only that, the enticing aroma and explosive flavor in the mouth add to the pleasure of enjoying it. Allegedly, the term "digejrot" originated from the sound of 'jrot, jrot' heard during the process of pouring the sauce from the bottle. It's no wonder that this food is later known as Tahu Gejrot. Well, here is a simple recipe for Tahu Gejrot Kuah Asam Pedas.
Ingredients: 20 pieces of white tofu/brown tofu, 1 piece of tamarind, 1 piece of medium-sized brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce, 2 glasses of water, 3 cloves of garlic, 6 cloves of shallots, 20 pieces of small green chili peppers.
How to Make: Prepare a pot and heat water. Add sugar and tamarind, wait until dissolved while stirring occasionally. Once dissolved, add soy sauce and remove from heat. Prepare bird's eye chili, shallots, and garlic. Mix using a blender or mortar and pestle, add salt. Cut tofu into several pieces according to taste, then add the seasoning on top. Add tamarind sugar water. Tahu Gejrot is ready to be enjoyed.
Ingredients:6 pieces of tofu pong1 tsp granulated sugar (according to taste)1 tbsp sweet soy sauce4-5 pieces of tamarind50 gr palm sugar100 ml boiled water1 green curly chili (optional)1 clove of garlic2 cloves of shallot4 green bird's eye chili (according to taste)salt to taste
How to Make: Prepare tofu and wash it thoroughly. Cut it into 2 parts and fry until half cooked. Prepare the ingredients for the mortar and mix them until all the ingredients are evenly mixed. Prepare a pot and add tamarind and palm sugar. Add water and cook until the palm sugar dissolves. Add granulated sugar and soy sauce. Cook again until the granulated sugar dissolves, adjust the taste.
Correct the taste according to your preference, cook until the water boils. Remove the tamarind seeds and then add the ground spices. Stir briefly and then turn off the stove. Pour the sauce over the tofu and gejrot tofu is ready to be enjoyed. Source Diadona.id
