Dream - AllClear travel insurance provider based in the UK released a list of the 20 most luxurious airports in the world in 2024.
AllClear analyzes 1,800 airports worldwide. They provide assessments based on the availability of waiting areas for travelers, the number of branded stores open at the airport, the number of four and five-star hotels that can be found around the airport, and whether champagne bars or caviar houses are available.
Based on the assessment, Dubai International Airport (DXB) has once again been crowned as the most luxurious airport in the world.
Quoting Liputan6.com from Business Traveler, the Dubai International Airport (DXB) is one of the busiest airports in the world, serving more than 87 million passengers in 2023.
Although so, the airport can still offer a comfortable and luxurious experience throughout its terminals. As Emirates' main hub, DXB has over 30 lounges where passengers can relax before their flights. This airport also has various high-end fashion boutiques, champagne bars, caviar houses, and 5-star hotels in Terminal 3.
One thing that sets DXB apart from other airports is the abundance of luxury hotels in the surrounding area. More than 70 top-class hotels are within a three-mile radius of the airport, providing plenty of options for travelers. In addition to luxurious facilities, Dubai Airport offers peaceful gardens, outdoor swimming pools, a gym, a cinema, and many other amenities to make passengers' travel experience as comfortable as possible.
Following Dubai is Heathrow Airport in London. As the main hub for British Airways, this airport has one of the highest concentrations of lounges in the world. It is also home to almost every luxury retail brand you can imagine. Southeast Asia is also represented in the list, namely Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok and Changi Airport in Singapore.
The majority of airports on the list come from Asia, both East Asia and the Middle East. Only three airports in North America made it to the top 20. Here is the complete list of the 20 most luxurious airports in the world in 2024 according to AllClear:
