The news of Akira Toriyama's departure has been confirmed by Bird Studio, which is the manga production and design studio created by the creator.

Akira Toriyama has been an artist since 1978. The man, born in Nagoya, Japan, on April 5, 1955, is also a Japanese manga writer, manga artist, and character creator for video games.
According to Liputan6.com, Toriyama's first published work was the story Wonder Island (1987). In manga, he is best known for creating the science fiction comedy series Dr. Slump (1980-1984) and the martial arts-themed series Dragon Ball (1984-1995). Dragon Ball itself has been adapted into four animated series, Dragon Ball (1986-1989), Dragon Ball Z (1989-1996), Dragon Ball GT (1996-1997), and Dragon Ball Super (2015-2018).
