Dream - Identity Card (KTP) is an important item that must not be damaged. KTP can be made by Indonesian citizens (WNI) who are over 17 years old.
For electronic-based ID cards themselves, there is no expiration date. However, the quality of ID cards often decreases with age. For example, the photo quality on the ID card has faded.
This certainly poses a challenge when verifying banking or other administrative matters. The government, through the Population and Civil Registration Agency in various regions, has provided services for the public who wish to replace damaged ID cards (KTP).
Currently, almost all civil registry administration services are done online. The same goes for applying for a new ID card replacement.
Quoting from Merdeka.com, here is an example of applying for a new ID card replacement online at the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Office (Disdukcapil) of Bekasi City:
Visit the Disdukcapil Kota Bekasi website. On the homepage, select bit.ly\/dantainpatriot. Next, choose the location for replacing the damaged ID card, such as the Public Service Mall or the District Office.
After selecting the location, create an account first by entering the Identity Card number (NIK), name, email, and password. When the account has been registered, you can immediately apply for a replacement ID card by clicking on the Damaged ID Card option in the available column.
When you have obtained the quota, you can visit the designated sub-district office on the specified day. The requirement is to bring the damaged ID card that will be replaced.
The current process of replacing KTP is relatively fast. When a damaged KTP is handed over to the Disdukcapil officer for processing, on the same day you can directly receive a new KTP.
It should be noted that Disdukcapil limits the number of applications for new ID card replacements. The quota amount in each district or region may vary.
