Dream - It has been 10 years since Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 went missing. The incident is one of the biggest mysteries in the history of aviation. The Boeing 777 aircraft was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members. Until now, Malaysia is reported to still be actively searching for the aircraft.
On Sunday, March 3, 2024, the Minister of Transport of Malaysia, Anthony Loke, encouraged the search efforts for MH370. He acknowledged that he had invited the American deep-sea exploration company, Ocean Infinity, to discuss the efforts.
Minister of Transportation Malaysia, Anthony Loke, said as quoted by Dream from CNBC on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
The Malaysian government has experienced two failures in the search for MH370 aircraft. In the first attempt, Malaysia, China, and Australia spent a total of US$200 million or around Rp3.14 trillion (with an exchange rate of Rp 15,740) until January 2017.
In 2018, the Malaysian government proposed a payment offer of US$70 million or equivalent to Rp1.10 trillion to anyone who successfully finds the MH370 aircraft. To conduct the search for the aircraft in the Southern Indian Ocean, the Malaysian government collaborated with Ocean Infinity company.
Anthony expressed that if approved by the Malaysian cabinet, his party will communicate with Australia to continue efforts to search for the aircraft. This news was welcomed by the families of the victims who greatly appreciate the offer from Ocean Infinity, which does not burden Malaysia with search costs.

Meanwhile, the other victims' families, Jiang Hui from China, requested Malaysia to continue providing information to them. According to Jiang Hui, communication is crucial so that they can obtain certainty about the fate of his mother, who was a passenger on MH370. "As long as there is communication, we can avoid misunderstandings," said Jiang Hui.
To be known, Jiang is one of the family members who filed compensation claims related to the tragedy of Flight MH370. This is due to the fact that 150 passengers from China were also on the flight. Some families of the victims have filed compensation claims against Malaysia Airlines, Boeing, Rolls-Royce as the aircraft engine manufacturer, and Allianz Insurance Group.
