Dream - Defense Minister (Menhan) and presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, signaled support for Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, to fill the position of Minister of Finance in his future leadership period.
Momen Prabowo gave a signal of support to Tiko, caught on camera after both of them attended the Mandiri Investment Forum (IMF) 2024 event at Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Before leaving the location, Prabowo briefly shook hands with Tiko and gave a special message to safeguard Indonesia's finances. "Guard the nation's money," said Prabowo while shaking hands with Tiko.
"However, Prabowo did not provide further statements regarding the meaning of his statement. He hurriedly left the location. Tiko also refused to respond to media inquiries regarding the signal of support given by Prabowo."
Tiko also chose to re-enter the Mandiri Investment Forum area inside the hotel with the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir.

"Previously, the international media from the United States, Bloomberg, mentioned that Prabowo is targeting former bankers to become his finance minister."
Quoting freemalaysiatoday, the four potential candidates being considered are Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, Chairman of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar, and President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Royke Tumilaar.
"They are considered the most suitable for the role due to their financial expertise and effective leadership, said a Bloomberg source who wishes to remain anonymous as this discussion is personal."
