Located in the new PT HIM facility in Purwakarta, BAIC Indonesia will occupy 1 production line capable of producing 1,680 units of BAIC BJ40 Plus in 2025.
Target is followed by the production of BJ30 & X55 II in the 2nd and 3rd year, followed by the production of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) in the following year. In its first 5 years, BAIC Indonesia targets production to reach 12,000 units per year.
"In the initial stage, PT JIO will assemble Semi Knock-Down, where the manufacturer receives semi-finished vehicles directly from the BAIC factory in China. Then, component assembly is carried out until the final process, resulting in a complete vehicle."
In the long term, PT JIO plans to locally assemble BAIC vehicles in Full CKD using high-quality domestic materials to comply with the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) regulations.
