Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security Development of Workers (PHI and Jamsos) of the Ministry of Manpower, Indah Anggoro Putri, stated that companies are obliged to provide rights to their workers in accordance with applicable regulations, including severance pay.

"He suspects that the layoff action was reported by the Manpower Office in the related region. "Until now, the Ministry of Manpower has not received an official report. It is possible to report directly to the Purwakarta Manpower Office," said Indah."
Head of the Purwakarta Department of Manpower and Transmigration, Didi Garnadi, has received information from management regarding the condition of PT Sepatu Bata, which has gone bankrupt due to a lack of orders.
According to him, due to a decrease in orders, PT Sepatu Bata has been laying off its employees gradually. The number of employees affected by the layoffs is 233 people. "The company has reported that it will settle all the rights of the laid-off employees, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," said Didi.
Quoting, Government Regulation Number 35 of 2021 concerning Fixed-Term Employment Agreements, Outsourcing, Working Hours, Employment Relations and Rest Time, and Termination of Employment. Through this regulation, the government specifies the amount of severance pay that will be received by workers due to Termination of Employment (PHK), namely:
a. Working period less than 1 year, 1 month salary b. Working period 1 year or more but less than 2 years, 2 months salary c. Working period 2 years or more but less than 3 years, 3 months salary d. Working period 3 years or more but less than 4 years, 4 months salary e. Working period 4 years or more but less than 5 years, 5 months salary f. Working period 5 years or more but less than 6 years, 6 months salary
g. Work period of 6 years or more but less than 7 years, 7 months of salary. Work period of 7 years or more but less than 8 years, 8 months of salary. Work period of 8 years or more, 9 months of salary.
