Dream - Director of Communication and User Guidance Services, Nirwala Dwi Heryanto responds to issues related to Customs hiring influencers as buzzers.
This issue is widely discussed after TikToker @awbimax, also known as Bima Yudho, uploaded a screenshot of a conversation thread between himself and an agency claiming to be a third party of the Customs and Excise, who proposed a collaboration offer to the influencer.
Nirwala asserts that they have never used influencers as buzzers to discredit public opinion, especially regarding what is currently trending in society. However, Bea Cukai (Customs and Excise) has also collaborated with influencers to educate the public about customs and excise matters.
"We do not use buzzer services to discredit public opinion, especially regarding what has been widely discussed lately. However, we have collaborated with several influencers to educate the public about customs and excise services."

Furthermore, Nirwala added that the goal of collaboration with influencers is to maximize the reach of publicity and simplify information so that it can be easily understood by the public in a practical manner.
"Like any other organization that understands the importance of social media and influencers in helping to spread and simplify the information we have, we also optimize the use of these functions,"
He said.
Apart from collaborating with several influencers, Customs also actively and regularly provides education and socialization to the public. Nirwala stated that they are grateful for the input, suggestions, and information provided by the community in order to improve the services that have been provided.
"As part of quality service, Customs is committed to continuously conducting education and socialization activities together with stakeholders."
"The Customs Office is always open to receiving input and suggestions from the public, including through various social media platforms that can be accessed through the Bravo Customs Service Contact Center 1500225 or social media accounts on Instagram and X at @BeaCukaiRI and @bravobeacukai, as well as Facebook at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise," Nirwala emphasized.
