Dream - The World Economic Forum (WEF) has once again released a list of the best countries in the world for travel and tourism. This year, WEF crowned the United States (US) as the winner.

Rankings are determined by various criteria including infrastructure, natural resources, sustainability, availability of workforce, and competitive prices. WEF data focuses on tourism, hotel business, airports, attractions, airlines, and others.
Quoting CNN, six out of the top 10 countries on the list are in Europe. This report refers to the continent as a "resilient tourist destination with strong intra-regional travel flows," and has the highest value for train connectivity.
Other factors taken into account are passport strength. Every year, the Henley Index ranks the world's most powerful passports, and its data is included in the WEF report.
"For the year 2024, six countries share the number one ranking, including France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and Spain. Five of these countries are in the top 10 of the WEF, with Singapore ranked 13th. 'In 2024, global tourism growth is expected to be strengthened by the continued fulfillment of pent-up demand and growth in major Asian markets after travel restrictions are lifted following delays in other regions,' the report stated."
While the US is the only North American country to be in the top 10, its neighbor, Canada, is in the 11th position.
According to the WEF, the US is a "mature" tourism market, which already has the infrastructure ready to welcome visitors, such as air networks connecting cities and on-the-ground support like tour guides, rental cars, hotel rooms, and maps.
