Dream - After receiving a lot of criticism about the official Olympic uniform, Malaysia has decided to redesign the clothing. This decision was made after the official announcement of Malaysia's Olympic uniform triggered negative reactions from the public.
According to New Straits Times, the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) is currently collaborating with Yonex to create a new and improved design that is more exclusive for the event. OCM hopes that this redesign will result in uniforms that are more suitable for the athletes.
"The uniforms are indeed being made new, but only around 25 athletes will receive these new clothes. Meanwhile, the coach, support staff, and other companions will continue to use the controversial old clothes."
This step is taken to ensure that athletes can perform confidently and comfortably during the competition.
"In the beginning, Yonex submitted several designs to OCM, and one selected design appeared interesting in concept. However, when the uniform was worn, the result did not meet expectations. The gold-themed design with tiger stripes, which was supposed to symbolize Malaysia's spirit to win gold medals in Paris, turned out to be disliked by the public."
Last week, the clothing received sharp criticism from the Malaysian community. Many called it "ugly" and outdated compared to the previous design.
This criticism has led OCM to decide to redesign the uniform in order to be more in line with public taste and expectations.
The redesign process is expected to produce a uniform that is not only visually appealing, but also functional and comfortable for the athletes. OCM and Yonex have worked hard to ensure that this new design will meet the expected standards of the Malaysian Olympic team. Source: WorldofBuzz / Report: Aykaputri Amalia Rahmani
