Sophisticated! This AC Can Turn On from a Distance and Receive Voice Commands

This technology is introduced by a South Korean technology company, Samsung, which presents the WindFree Ultra AC. This product, which has entered the Indonesian market, is equipped with technology that can control the AC from a distance. 

"It can be controlled from a smartphone with (the) SmartThings (application)," said Donny Libra, Head of Air Conditioner Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics Indonesia, during the launch of the WindFree Ultra AC in Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Operating the AC from a Distance

Using SmartThings, consumers can monitor the electricity usage of the AC, calculate cost estimates, save energy with the saving mode, and be reminded if energy usage exceeds the limit.

Another feature of SmartThings is Welcome Cooling, where this feature is based on GPS technology. With this innovation, the SmartThing application will send notifications to turn on the AC via mobile phone when the homeowner starts approaching their home.

Not only turning it on from a distance, this feature can also remind users to turn off the AC when leaving the house.

Samsung's innovation doesn't stop there, the WindFree Ultra AC can also be controlled by voice commands. However, only one AC can be connected to one smartphone with the QR Code available on the AC. So AC control will not collide.

With power consumption starting from 180Watt, this AC is claimed to filter fine particles such as dust, animal fur, fibers, and household dust in just 20 minutes, and filter out 99.9% of harmful bacteria with the Air Purification PM1.0 Filter.

The WindFree Cooling innovation allows 23,000 micro holes to avoid excessive wind and excessive cold, which often has an impact on health. 

How much does it cost? The Samsung WindFree Ultra AC is sold at prices ranging from Rp8,299,000 to Rp13,599,000, with free installation services and a 5-meter AC pipe package if purchased through Samsung.com.
