Borrowing Rp451 Million from Wife, Husband Claims to Pay Off Debt, But Actually Gets Married Again

Dream - As a married couple, helping each other to solve problems is a common thing. For example, if a husband has debts and cannot afford to pay them off, then the wife should help by lending him money.

Instead of helping each other in the household, the husband in this story did the opposite, being selfish. He borrowed hundreds of millions from his wife, claiming it was to pay off debts. In reality, it was for getting married again.

A man from Saudi Arabia borrowed 120,000 Riyals or approximately Rp451 million from his wife. According to the husband's confession, the money will be used to pay off debts.

He added that he was threatened if he didn't pay his debts. Feeling sorry for the problem her husband faced, the wife then gave him the requested amount of money.

A few weeks later, his brother-in-law told the wife that her husband borrowed the money not to pay off debts.

Instead, the man used the money to marry another woman. Feeling upset, the wife asked her husband about it.

Initially, her husband denied using the borrowed money to get married again. When pressured to confess, the husband finally admitted it.

Feeling betrayed, the woman asked for her money to be returned. But her husband refused. Frustrated with her husband's behavior, the woman filed for divorce.

Unfortunately, according to the Marriage Law implemented in Saudi Arabia, the woman cannot simply demand a divorce from her husband.

There are several requirements that must be met for the woman's divorce claim to be realized. For example, there must be evidence that her husband has committed adultery, or one of them cannot fulfill their obligations as a husband or wife.
