Prudential Wins Best Sharia Life Insurance Award in Asia

Dream - PT Prudential Sharia Life Assurance (Prudential Sharia) has won the "International Sharia Life Insurer of the Year" award in the Asia Pacific region at the 2023 Insurance Asia Awards. The award was given because the company was deemed to have a positive impact on participants through innovative products, services, and good business performance.

In its 8th edition, the Insurance Asia Awards recognized 13 categories for general and life insurance companies. One of them is the award for the Best International Equivalent Sharia Life Insurance, which was achieved by Prudential Sharia representing Indonesia.

This award further strengthens Prudential Sharia's position as a leading Sharia Life Insurance company in Indonesia and Asia.

President Director of Prudential Sharia, Omar S. Anwar, appreciates the insurance participants who have entrusted Prudential Sharia to manage protection solutions and financial planning to face various life risks.

"Seeing the very low penetration rate of Sharia insurance at 0.13 percent, Prudential Sharia is committed to providing comprehensive Sharia-compliant protection access and meeting the needs of participants," said Omar in an official statement quoted on Monday, July 31, 2023.

Meanwhile, Lailatul Mauliyah Zubaidah, Head of Marketing, Customer and Corporate Communications at Prudential Sharia, informed that more than 520,000 people have become insurance participants of Prudential Sharia.

Since the spin-off, Prudential Sharia has been actively organizing Sharia financial literacy and inclusion activities, such as through the Sharia Knowledge Centre (SKC). This effort is made to increase the literacy rate of Sharia finance, which reaches 9 percent, as well as the Sharia financial inclusion rate of 12 percent.
